In his characteristics manner, the member representing Izzi East Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly Hon Goodluck Obinna Mbam has put smiles on the faces of the people of Izzi East Constituency with hosting them end of the year party with lots of gifts.
People benefitted from his empowerment programmes worth millions of naira as part of activities marking the 2025 Christmas celebration and new year celebrations. Items distributed include grinding machines, tailoring machines, bags of rice, wrappers, cartons of Maggie, bags of salt, buckets,cartons of tomatoes, assorted food condiments cow and cash among others.
The celebration was started with Holy Mass solemnly presided over by Rev Fr Chukwuma Ogwudu Onah of St Michael ‘s Parish Ndingele Mgbalukwu in Izzi Local Government Area.
Speaking at his country home Mgbalukwu autonomous Community of Izzi Local Government Area, in the presence of All Progressive Congress Party APC Chieftains, party supporters, constituents, friends, well wishers as well as associate who filled his compound, Hon Goodluck Obinna Mbam said he deemed it necessary to have annual Christmas and new year celebrations to show appreciation to his constituents of Izzi East and equally know thier pulse adding that the gesture was to help complement the proactive steps of the State Governor Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and his wife in seeing that the less privileged persons the society have a sense of belonging especially this year.
Speaking on his representation at the State House of Assembly, Hon Obinna Mbam said he has taken time to study the needs and requirements of his Constituency and drastic efforts has been made to attend to them.
He mentioned some of his achievements to include award of scholarship to Indigent persons, sinking of boreholes and installation of solar lights across seven wards of Izzi East Constituency, attraction of construction of 30 kilometers Ominyi _Iboko road ,among others
Hon Goodluck Obinna Mbam who is chairman House Committee on Local Government Chieftaincy and EBSIEC Matters thanked the Governor of Ebonyi State His Excllency Rt Hon Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the construction of long abandoned Ominyi Road and urged people of Izzi East to keep supporting the Governor adding that his plans for Ebonyians as encapsulated in the People’s Charter of Needs will continue to have meaningful impacts on the lives of people.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture Hon Chief Anthony Onyibe Nwegede said Hon Obinna Mbam in his primary assignment as a legislator has been outspoken whenever any bills or motion is presented at the plenary and commended his effective representation saying the people of Izzi East will reciprocate by voting him for second tenure.
On thier part, the permanent Secretary Ministries of Works and Education Chief Monday Nkwede and Special Assistant to Governor on Batchy plant Hon Kizito Nwenyi lauded the leadership qualities of Hon Obinna Mbam have the spirit of love, and sharing and implored him to continue with his good representation at the State House of Assembly not leaving behind his humanitarian disposition.
Also Speaking, the Federal Commissioner of National Population Commission Representing Ebonyi State Chairman APC Izzi Local Government Area Hon Odili Okeye, Hon Jeremia Nwankwegu, Former Cordinator Izzi Development Center Hon Patrick Mbam, traditional rulers Mgbalukwu autonomous Community HRH Eze Stephen Akpaghara, Women Leader Onwa Oferekpe Mgbalukwu ward Mrs Mary Nwibo Okoko, President Mgbalukwu Development Union Chief Chukwuma Nwegu Engnr Mathias Mbam and many others said they made a good choice in thier decision to elect Hon Obinna Mbam to represent them in the State House of Assembly and that he has demonstrated good representation of his people as the items doled out were not only of great use but equally donated to the most needy people.
The event equally witnessed some decampees from PDP to APC led by Mr Friday Mbam.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Nkwuda Benneth Okeh of Ndiebor Ishiagu ward thanked the lawmaker for the relief he gave to them and for making them to be partakers in the good governance of the present administration and prayed that Almighty God will continue to protect and guide him in all his undertakings.
