From Comrade Deacon Jeremiah Onyibe
The Izhi Tehu Foundation (ITF) is a non-profit, non-political organization made up of passionate, progressive, and visionary graduates committed to the development of their homeland. Formally established on 19th January 2019, the Foundation was born out of the need for a credible platform to drive sustainable human development in Izhi Clan.
Its vision is clear and deliberate: the strategic development of Izhi Clan through well-designed human development programmes, impactful projects, and advocacy initiatives that promote collective growth and prosperity.

Since its inception, ITF has made remarkable strides in advancing the sociocultural and economic development of Izhi Clan. The Foundation has successfully organized seminars, sensitization programmes, and community engagements aimed at value reorientation, civic responsibility, and fostering a development-driven mindset among the people.
In the area of human capital development, ITF has awarded scholarships to indigent but academically outstanding students studying critical and development-oriented courses such as Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Engineering, and Computer Science in Nigerian universities. Notably, several beneficiaries have graduated with excellent academic results- clear evidence of the Foundation’s impact.
Moreso, the Foundation established and equipped altra modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Center along Ogoja Road Abakaliki, where intensive training of indigents Izhi youths on ICT had been going on although as for now the training is on hold due to ongoing construction of road by the state government which affected its building but plans is on the way to relocate it to a new office.
Beyond interventions, ITF has also demonstrated strong intellectual leadership through the development of key policy and strategy documents. These include the ITF Position Paper on Oha Izhi Nnodo Sociocultural Organization, the ITF Position Paper on Ojiji Izhi Nnodo, and the comprehensive Izhi Development Blueprint (IDev-B)- all aimed at providing long-term, sustainable solutions to the developmental challenges of Izhi Clan.
As part of its 2026 activities, the Izhi Tehu Foundation will honour distinguished sons and daughters of Izhi who have excelled in various fields and shown exceptional commitment to the development of their people. These awardees have been carefully evaluated and found worthy to be celebrated as ambassadors of progress, development partners, and beacons of hope for present and future generations of Ndu Izhi.
The highlight of the event will be the official launching of ITF’s flagship Youth Empowerment Initiative, a transformative programme designed to drive inclusive and rapid development across Izhi society.
The initiative comprises two integrated programmes that will run concurrently.
Th first programme, Acquire2Zoom (A2Z), is a scheme that focuses on education support, academic guidance, sensitization, and value reorientation. It aims to improve access to quality education, promote science, innovation, and creativity, and instil core Izhi values such as honesty, hard work, discipline, patience, and prudence.
Key components include annual mathematics and science competitions, innovation and creativity awards, and scholarship opportunities extending up to university level.
The second programme, SkillUp Izhi (SUI) is designed to empower youths with vocational, digital, and entrepreneurial skills aligned with modern economic demands. The goal is to enhance employability, promote self-reliance, and reduce youth unemployment and poverty across Izhi Clan.
In light of this, the Izhi Tehu Foundation under the leadership of Admin. Igwe Christopher Agbo, Evang. Chief Dominic Okechukwu Nwibo (CEO/MD Choice Sanitary Wears Ltd) as the chairman of the occasion and Chief Chikaodili Ojimba (Chairman/CEO, Ojimba and Sons Nigeria Ltd) as the chief Launcher are calling on the entire people of Izhi Clan, all Ebonyians, and Nigerians at large to come out in their numbers and support this landmark event, the ITF Award Presentation and Launch of the Youth Empowerment Initiative.
The Date is Saturday, 10th January 2026. The Venue is International Conference Centre (ICC), Abakaliki, while the time is 11:00 a.m. prompt
The Foundation also calls for partnerships, sponsorships, and collective support from individuals, institutions, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of its programmes. Together, we can build a progressive, empowered, and self-sustaining Izhi Clan.
