Strange Fire Raze House, Yam Bans in Omege Noyo as Victims Cryout for Help

Strange Fire has consumed goods , especially yam ban worth over five million naira at Omege Noyo Alike in Ikwo LGA. The victims, Mr. Michael Mbam and Mr. Jonathan Mbam said they were not in the house when the incident happened on Saturday evening, but were called by neighbours who saw smoke coming out from their compound.

They explained that their source of livelihood including their yam bans which cost above two million naira each were all consumed by the fire outbreak. They called on government, especially Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and other good spirited people to assist them overcome the temptation which if not controlled might lead to their early journey to the great beyond.

A neighbour, Mr. Boniface Nome described as unfortunate the fire outbreak that consumed the properties of the two families. He pleaded with stakeholders of Ikwo, public office holders and the State Government to assist the victims to recover from the huge loss.

Other sympathiser thanked God that no life was lost, but joined in the call for people to assist the victims cursion the effect of such disaster.

As at the time of this report, there was no trace of the cause or source of the fire outbreak.
