The Anambra State local security outfit, Agunechemba, otherwise known as Udo Ga Achi, has conveyed its gratitude to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, for investing his precious time to improve the effectiveness of the vigilante forces in their crucial responsibilities.
This initiative, it was gathered included training, reorientation, and assessment of the health conditions of every vigilante member in the state.
In a press release signed and made available to journalists in Awka by Agunechemba’s spokesperson, Comrade Nweke Nweke, it was disclosed that the re-training and awareness program for the vigilante operatives, initiated by the State Police Command in partnership with the state government, aims to develop the skills needed for their local responsibilities.
Sharing their excitement about the project, Agunechemba’s leadership, via the Public Relations Officer, expressed optimism that the program would equip the vigilante operatives with essential knowledge about security protocols, human rights, and local policing principles.
They are hopeful that this initiative will promote better cooperation with law enforcement and other security agencies, leading to enhanced safety throughout the State.
Anticipating that the vigilante operatives will learn about ethics and professionalism, Agunechemba’s leadership mentioned their confidence that once the training and re-training are complete, a more robust alliance with other security entities will emerge, focusing on crime scene management, rule of law adherence, evidence handling, and other crucial security aspects.
“The Agunechemba leadership is thrilled that the dedicated Police Commissioner has initiated the training and re-training of the vigilante operatives within the State.
“This program will revitalize our activities, and we aim not only to highlight our capabilities but also to motivate all vigilante group members to take part in this process.

The spokesperson for Agunechemba reaffirmed that the training and re-training of security personnel in the State is mandatory, encouraging all members to attend the exercise.
