Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Council, Hon. Barr Sunday Nwankwo has called on newly elected leaders of Ohaneze Ndigbo to work closely with traditional rulers in promotion of peace, unity and preservation of good Igbo cultural heritage. He gave the advise when he received the newly elected executives of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ikwo Local Government chapter who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
He commended them on their peaceful election and pledged to partner with them in promoting the true Igbo nation’s identity.
Barr. Nwankwo directed the new leadership of the council to partner with Traditional Rulers to foster more cultural heritage and traditions in Ikwo.
Explaining their mission, Chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ikwo Local Government Chapter, Hon. Stephen Nwukwu disclosed that their visit was to familiarize with the Council Chairman, Barr Sunday Nwankwo, and to extend appreciation for his support during the election that secured their positions as Local Government Executives of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
He reaffirmed their dedication to supporting the administration of His Excellency, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and assured of their partnership for more effective governance down to the grassroots.
