Ebonyi APC Chairman, Ikwo Council Boss, other Party Leaders Receive Former Chief Whip, Nwuruku, his Associates to APC

It was like a civic reception and massive defection in Ikwo LGA on Wednesday 14th May 2025 as the State Chairman of APC, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, Ikwo Council Boss, Barr Sunday Basil Nwankwo and other stakeholders of APC in the State received defectors from People’s Democratic Party, PDP led by a former Chief Whip of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Humphrey Nwuruku who represented Ikwo North State Constituency into the ruling APC in the State.

Welcoming the defectors into the party, the State APC Chairman thanked Hon. Nwuruku for taking the bold steps in joining the moving train. He assured him and his teeming supporters of fair treatment and accommodation by the APC family.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Chief Barr. Sunday Basil Nwankwo, eulogized the State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his stellar performance in office as the state Chief Executive which according to him is the reason prominent and various members of other political parties has been flocking en mass into the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state. He also paid glowing tribute to the APC Chairman in the state, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha for his political managerial sagacity in running the APC affairs in the state, which according to him is the main reason the party is succeeding virally. He also assured Hon. Nwuruku and his associates that they will be fully integrated into the people’s charter of needs and legacy mantra of the Government at the State and Local Government Government level.

In his speech, Rt. Hon. Humphrey Nwuruku said he and his numerous friends and supporters from the PDP took the decision to join APC because of the unity, peace and unprecedented achievements of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru within his two years in office. He promised that they will henceforth work with the leadership of the party at all levels to step down the good policies of the Governor, and that APC remains the major and only party in Ebonyi State.

Also present at the welcoming event held at the Council headquarters, Onuebonyi Echara were the State working committee members of APC, the party leadership at the Local Government, political office holders from Ikwo LGA, including the Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Mrs Chinasa Itumo, the Leader of Ikwo Legislative Council, Hon Mrs Janet Nweke and other Ward Councilors, Mother of the Wife of the Governor, Dr Mrs Ngozi Nwode among others.
