To further step down the people orientated programmes of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the Executive Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Hon. Barr Sunday Nwankwo in early hours of Friday 7th February, 2025 flagged off the construction of two kilometres Ndioduma -Ugbodo Road in Echialike Ikwo LGA. The event coincided with the celebration of the 84th Birthday of Former Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi.
The Chairman said the road is one of the legacy projects approved by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. He stressed that the flag off was significant as it was coming on a special day, marking the birthday of one of the famous legendary leader, founding father and second Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi who is from the area.
Barr. Nwankwo appreciated Governor Nwifuru for his people’s charter of needs policy, which is transforming both the urban and rural areas. He assured that his office will monitor to ensure that the work is of best quality and that it is delivered on schedule. He also called on members of the community to ensure security of the contractor and their equipments.
Speaking at the road flag off, the wife of the former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs. Josephine Elechi on behalf of her husband, thanked Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for prioritizing the needs of the people. She also thanked the Ikwo Council Boss for touring same part in stepping down the good policies of the Governor to the grassroots.
Stakeholders of the community, including Hon. Celestine Nwali, Rt. Hon. Francis Elem, Prince Patrick Igwe, Emmanuel Onele, Vincent Ekuma among others thanked Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and the Council Chairman for such wonderful project. They pledged their continued solidarity to their administration, assuring that the people of the community will ensure security of the contractors and will continue to make the community very peaceful.
