In preparation for the visit of a reverend man of God, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai to Ikwo LGA on 15th March, 2025, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Traditional Rulers, Christian Association of Nigeria, Town union Presidents, the Central Planning Committee and stakeholders of the Council have flagged off massive Sensitization and Moblization of people to the program.
Addressing stakeholders and people of the Council at the Moblization flag off on Monday 18th February 2025, the Council Boss, Hon. Barr Sunday Basil Nwankwo thanked God for putting in the hearts of Ikwo leaders the zeal to hold the long anticipated special thanksgiving service. He recalled that the last visit of Rev. Uma Ukpai to Ikwo Noyo Clan in the year 2000 opened doors of progress, upliftment, promotion, appointments and election of Ikwo people into prominent national and state positions, hence the leaders and people of Ikwo Noyo Clan deemed it pertinent to hold the long anticipated thanksgiving. He emphasised that thanksgiving is an application for more and that the man of God coming to Ikwo will open up more progress to the Clan.
Barr Nwankwo called on all fathers of faith, community leaders and stakeholders to be at the forefront of the Moblization and stepping down the message to Churches and villages for massive attendance, assuring that through the visit of the great man of God, Ikwo will surely become greater than what it is currently.
Other speakers, including IDU president Elder Dr. Sam Nte Egwu, CAN Chairman, Rev Friday Okey, traditional rulers, Ministers of the gospel among other speakers, talked on the need for all sons and daughters of Ikwo Noyo Clan to fully participate in the interdenominational thanksgiving service and above all take it as a responsibility to educate others on need to be part of the program.
Resolutions reached at the meeting include that there would be no market or any other events in Ikwo that day; there would be busses in all communities and there will be more meetings and consultations prior to the thanksgiving service for proper planning, and that the committee will do everything possible to make the environment conducive for all the attendees.
