Association of Ikwo Noyo Media Practitioners, Alike Youth Forum and other groups in Ikwo LGA have condemned the recent adoption of a traditional Ruler, HRH Eze Francis Igwe on Sunday 1st March, 2026.
In a press release signed by the Interim President of the Association of Ikwo Noyo Media Practitioners, Comrade Israel Ekene Mbam and the President of Alike Ikwo Youth Forum, Comrade Chinua Nwele, the group sued for the immediate release of the royal father unharmed and called on security agencies to fish out those behind the kidnap.
Part of the release from the group read, “Alike Ikwo Youth Forum have condemned vehemently ,in its strongest terms,the abduction of His Royal Highness, Eze Francis Igwe, the traditional ruler of Ndufu-Alike community in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
“The Forum describe the action of the abductors as barbaric, criminal,inhuman and alien to the culture and tradition of Ikwo people, calling on the abductors to immediately release the royal father unconditionally.
The Foru called on the security agencies to activated all necessary security and intelligence measures to ensure the safe and prompt rescue of the royal father, arrest the culprits and bring them to justice.
Alike Ikwo Youth Forum however, expressed solidarity with the family of the abducted monarch and the people of Ndufu Alike community.
The Forum expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the public and the dedication of security agencies, the abducted royal father will soon be safely reunited with his family.
Alike Ikwo Youth Forum called on the youths of Ikwo to remain peaceful, law abiding and volunteer information to Security agencies to help rescue the abducted traditional ruler.”
