Tinubu has Given Southeast Sense of Belonging in all Areas – Sen. Ani

The Senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district at the Upper Chamber of National Assembly, Senator Professor Anthony Okorie Ani has described the ongoing construction of Enugu/Onitsha Expressway and other works across South East zone as transformational projects aimed at ameliorating the plight of Igbo people. He disclosed this to newsmen penultimate weekend stressing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is determined to boost economic activities both in the South East zone and across the federation by embarking on 13 major road projects.

He also said that Enugu/Porthacourt Express way that links Anambra, Abia. Imo and Rivers would enhance regional trade and strengthen transportation network thereby commended the president for the completion and expansion of some roads in the country.

Senator Ani who is also the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on South East Development Commission said that all the roads under construction would boost regional growth in every aspect of life and applauded Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi for his doggedness in delivering quality and timely service to the nation.
He maintained that the projects which include 9th Mile/Oturkpo/Markurdi road, Sokoto/Badagry High way, Abuja/Lokoja/Benin High way, Lagos/Calabar Coastal High way, Calabar/Ebonyi/Benue/Kogi/Nasarrawa/Abuja Super High way, dual carriage ways, flyovers, bridges among others are the greatest infrastructural development since Nigeria independence.

“The ongoing construction works that cut across all the six geo-political zones is seen within the first two years in office, this indicates that Mr. President is in a hurry to assuage the yearning of every Nigeria.

“If we can be sincere to ourselves, we will know that the ongoing projects are the biggest in the history of this country, thus, we need to support him in the South East concerning the second Niger bridge and others” he said.

Senator Ani further stated that the leadership under President Tinubu has given South East zone sense of belonging and appealed for patience as the administration would surely be felt in other aspects of life.
