Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon. Francis Nwifuru has assured the people of the state of improved governance and accelerated rural development ahead of next year’s general election.
Governor Nwifuru gave the assurance during the All Progressives Congress APC Governorship primary election held at his Enyanwigwe Ward in Izzi Local Government Area, where he emerged as the sole candidate of the ruling party for the 2027 governorship election.
He said that the massive turnout of party members and supporters at the primary election was an indication that his administration had earned the confidence of the people through visible developmental projects executed across the state.
Governor Nwifuru emphasized that he would continue with his agenda to transform the entire state and deliver more democratic dividends to the residents.
He described the APC’s adoption of direct primaries and the Option A4 voting system as one of the most transparent democratic processes that gives party members the opportunity to determine candidates directly.
The governor used the occasion to highlight achievements recorded by his administration across the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state, insisting that his government had remained committed to the manifesto presented to Ebonyi people in 2023.
He listed several ongoing and completed projects, including the dualisation of roads in Abakaliki, construction of rural concrete roads, bridges in Ezza North and Ivo local government areas, as well as community road projects across Izzi, Ohaukwu, Ikwo, Ishielu, Afikpo, Ohaozara and Onicha councils areas. He said that no project under his administration will be left uncompleted.

Gov Nwifuru urged youths in the state to develop interest in education and take their studies seriously to benefit from the state government’s scholarship
initiative.
