Support continues to grow for the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, alongside renewed calls for business mogul and philanthropist, Arc. Christian Asaga Nwali (C-SAGAS), to contest the Ebonyi Central Senatorial seat in 2027 under the platform of the APC.

The latest endorsement comes from the Ebonyi Businessmen Forum, Lagos State Chapter, which threw its weight behind Governor Nwifuru for a second term and adopted Arc. Christian Asaga Nwali as its preferred candidate for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone.

Rising from its quarterly meeting in Lagos, the association unanimously agreed that Governor Nwifuru has delivered commendable performance across key sectors and deserves another term to consolidate and complete his signature projects spread across the state.

Communicating the group’s resolution, the President of the Association, Comrade Jeremiah Obaji Nworu—who recently trekked from Lagos to Abakaliki in appreciation of the governor’s peace-building efforts—praised Nwifuru for prioritizing peace and security.

He noted that meaningful development cannot thrive in a crisis-ridden environment, adding that the governor’s commitment to peace has distinguished his administration.

According to him, Governor Nwifuru has demonstrated uncommon leadership by addressing communal conflicts decisively, rather than exploiting them for political gain, and redirecting security resources toward infrastructural development.

“It is on record that no other governor in the region has achieved half of what Governor Nwifuru has accomplished within his first tenure. His strides in security, human capital development, education, and other critical sectors are evident,” he said.

In the same vein, the association expressed appreciation to Arc. Christian Asaga Nwali (PhD) for his willingness to serve the people of Ebonyi Central at the National Assembly, assuring him of their full support.

“We have endorsed him and will mobilize all necessary support to ensure his victory,” Nworu added.

The group further emphasized that leadership positions should be occupied by individuals with proven records of achievement, describing Dr. Nwali as a successful entrepreneur and well-educated leader.

The forum also advised Ebonyians to prioritize competence and capacity in electing representatives, cautioning against the emergence of inexperienced and unprepared candidates who may not effectively advance the state’s interests.
