The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ebonyi state chapter has condemned the killing of 13 Ebonyians in Anambra State. In a press release signed by the State Chairman, Dr. Jenifer Adibe Nwafor called for justice for the victims, noting that the act was inhuman
“Ebonyi State Chapter of African Democratic Congress, ADC is shocked and outraged by the brutal killing of 13 innocent Ebonyians in Anambra State, Nigeria.
“This senseless and these heinous act of violence is a clear indication of the escalating insecurity and lawlessness in our country. The ADC Ebonyi state chapter condemns this act of terrorism in the strongest terms possible.
“We demand that the federal and state governments take immediate and decisive action to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.
“The Ebonyi state African Democratic Congress also calls for a thorough investigation into this incident to ensure that all those responsible are held accountable.
The ADC is deeply concerned about the rising ethnic tensions and violence in Nigeria, which threatens the very fabric of our national unity.
We urge all to remain calm and law-abiding, even in the face of provocation.
We also call on the federal and state governments to take proactive measures to address the root causes of these conflicts and ensure that justice is served.
The ADC Ebonyi State chapter commiserates with the families of the victims and all those affected .
We pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and for the speedy recovery of those injured.
