2027: Like the Youths, Ebonyi Central Women Hold Summit, Endorse Christian Asaga Nwali for Ebonyi Central Senate

As preparation for the 2027 general election continues in Ebonyi State, Women drawn from the four Local Government Areas in Ebonyi Central senatorial zone, under the platform of United Ebonyi Central Women For Positive Change has held an Empowerment summit, wherein they unanimously endorsed Arc Chief Christian Asaga Nwali as their choice candidate for Ebonyi Central Senate. The group also affirmed their total support for the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as Governor of Ebonyi State

Arising from their one day women Empowerment summit held at Ebonyi State College of Education Ikwo, the United Ebonyi Central Women For Positive Change said their decision to adopt Chief Asaga Nwali and Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was based on their track records and the group belief in their capacity to do more in the interest of women and the people of Ebonyi State.

Speaking at the event, the leader of United Ebonyi Central Women For Positive Change, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Ngozi Igwe, said Arc Christian Asaga Nwali is a man of the people whose track record in empowering communities and supporting women-led initiatives made him the natural choice of all the people of Ebonyi Central zone and beyond. According to her, the endorsement was not influenced by external forces but was a true reflection of the will of the women of Ebonyi Central.

Adopting Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for a second term, the women declared their unwavering support for the Governor’s re-election, praising his administration’s developmental strides and inclusive governance style. They highlighted improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education as key reasons for backing his second-term bid.

The motion for the endorsement of Governor Nwifuru and Arc Christian Asaga Nwali was moved by Hon. (Mrs.) Oluchi Nworie from Ezza North, and was seconded by her counterpart, Hon. (Mrs.) Victoria Okoro from Ishielu Local Government Area.

Responding to the endorsement, the wife of Arc. Asaga Nwali, Dr. (Mrs.) Irene Ugochi Asaga Nwali, represented by Dr. (Mrs.) Peace Collins Akpu, expressed deep gratitude, describing the support as a call for service and collaborative efforts. She pledged to take the message to Arc. Nwali who will respond in the shortest period of time.

Recall that United Ikwo Youth for Good Governance, had on 4th April 2026 endorsed Arc. Christian Nwali, giving him A-20 Day ultimatum to respond to the call to represent them in the red chamber of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial Seat.
